DO YOU KNOW THAT AS A LIAR, YOU CAN ALSO BE A RAPIST?

When you hear "the flesh" what comes first to your mind?

I'm almost certain that your answer is sin. Sin, in the light of something that looks and sounds really bad. Like disobedience, murder, lies, and all sorts.

Whereas even seeming norms can be the works of the flesh.

Romans 7:18-19(ESV) - For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.

This passage explains what the flesh does.

Let me tell you a story.

There was a young pastor that knew the secrets of the kingdom. He lived to please God. Tried every possible means to increase his church members. Of course, his  driving force was the spirit of God. But soon, his flesh began to gradually sneak in. So he sought for ways to do this himself. First, he started by ensuring that his subordinates gave him accolades when it was time for him to preach. Then he began to attach attractive photos of his church programs to his church's bills.

The point here is this.

He did those things not according to God's instructions but as his selfishness bade him.

Now, let's move forward.

You get upset when your ego is crushed. You always want to fight back when you feel cheated. You allow your life to be influenced by what people normally do, because you don't want to be different or left out. As a matter of fact, until your flesh is completely destroyed you are still under it's influence.

Sometimes you think you are just a minor sinner if you lie, you think you are better than a murderer or a  rapists. But the truth is that you  are no different. You can do exactly that too. Since they are the result of the same effect.

Is the flesh completely dead in you?

Check yourself and pray to God for help.
