Remember Beauty and The Beast?

Okay. Let me do a quick recap. The story happened in a palace where an arrogant prince ruled. On his birthday, an angel disguised as an old woman came with a mysterious gift-a little flower. This prince was disappointed. So he angrily screamed and spoke rudely to her. Minutes later, she transformed to an angel. In retaliation, she cursed him and his staff. She said he would be a beast for the rest of his life until he finds a woman that truly loves him. That woman has the power to unlock the curse. This seemed impossible considering his physical attributes and character traits.  Luckily for him, he found Belle who fell in love with him and was able to endure his selfish attitudes. Belle transformed the beast inside out too. She made him a new person. Despite all the hurts and pains, he made her go through.

Here's my point.

I see people becoming bad from good, growing bitter after loving and becoming uncaring because of their previous experiences in life.

But come to think of it, the very ones that Jesus Christ came to save are the ones that denied him on the cross. Do you know? They are the ones that turned their backs on Him although he fed them. He told his disciples that He did not come for the perfect but for the imperfect. Mark 2:17-When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”As a matter of fact, you aren't righteous on your own.  God's righteousness is what available for you. It is by faith!

Now there is no pass way for hurting people. No pass way for keeping malice or for refusing to be nice to people. Whether they deserve it or not, give it to them. Apart from the fact that that is what the scripture commands, you are also heaping coals on their heads. You know what that means? It means they will face God's judgement. Likewise, you are giving them an opportunity to have a change of heart by making them feel guilty.

Now let's turn the table around.

What if you are the wrong one?

Let's not pretend that we, as Christians, are not human or that we are completely infallible and perfect. We've got issues too! This is still not a reason to misbehave. You are a child of God. I can't say that enough. Don't allow circumstances around you to dictate your situation.

Don't be rude to your Church usher because she tells you to do things you don't want to do ( like sitting at the front seat in church or not pressing your phone during the sermon at all). Don't refuse to greet an elder today because he didn't respond to your greetings yesterday.

Don't criticize. Check yourself instead.
