Today we would be focusing on how to actually live beyond
your own personal limitation. In addition, I will try to base my emphasis on seeing
yourself for who you actually are.
Often times, you shy away from living out your
greatest potentials, you deliberately cut yourself some slack. You may even
want to take a break from your seemingly busy schedule just to hold yourself
back from achieving what you actually can. People do this for so many reasons. Sometimes
they think, oh I have achieved so much, I seriously need to relax and enjoy
these achievements first. As reasonable as this sounds, it is not what should
be on your mind. That is taking actions on your own terms. The question is;
what is God really saying?
A sense of achievement give human beings generally the sensation of fulfilment and brings them to a state of mind that they can finally stop pursuing some other things. I am not saying that taking a break from work or pursuit is entirely bad, what I want you to know is that you can’t afford to stop pushing yourself until you fulfil God’s vision for you.
There is more you can achieve, there is more to your
life than it is right now. Don’t be the orchestrator of your own limitations. When
King David, in the Bible was rebuked by his brothers, they told him to return
back home to keep the sheep. Nevertheless, he refused to stop himself, he could
have returned home but he knew that Goliath someone he could take down. David refused
to dwell on his past achievements of killing the bears and the lions to keep
the sheep he was watching over, he pushed himself to go even further to deliver
the Israelite for the oppression of the Philistines.
King David didn’t know that the step he took to confront
Goliath was a step in the direction of his destiny. This is my question to you;
have you taken your own step in the direction of your destiny. It takes only a
decision of relaxation and enjoyment of past victories to prevent you from
taking that required step towards your destiny.
Today I want you to push yourself. It doesn’t matter
how many times you have tried and failed, I don’t want you to be discouraged at
all. I pray for you in Jesus name that this next time you will be pushing
yourself beyond your natural limit, you will have positive results. Amen.
Let us look at the rich young ruler
Jesus
said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to
the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Matth.19:21
The rich young ruler wasn’t a sinner, he doesn’t lie,
steal nor commit adultery, yet he was an imperfect person. He had to go a step
further but he limited himself by going back sorrowful because he loved his riches.
Jesus gave him an invitation to follow Him, the exact way he called the other
twelve disciples. Only God knows what the rich young ruler exempted himself
from by not choosing to follow Jesus.
This is a point of call for you today, what demands
have god been making on you for quite some time now that you are still
struggling to obey. Would you rather choose to have your own way and wallow in
imperfection or you will take that bold step to obey Him fully? Take time to
reflect on these.
