Faith and fate are two words often used interchangeably by people for various reasons. Some people are made to believe that fate happens to you and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. This kind of idea is fueled with stories told, folktales and even television drama. The movie, Merlin, showed a twist of fate between two young men who were fated to build a kingdom together. Every decision they made, took them steps closer to their fate.

Today, I will be showing you what the God kind of faith is and why through faith is the only way you can become what God wants you to be.

The book of Hebrews chapter 11 showed us great feats that the elders achieved by faith. Abraham was not fated to be the father of faith, his faith in God made him who we all know him to be today.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Hebrews 11:8. This was the start of his journey. His faith in God gave him the legacy he left behind.

The question is; are you going to build your life by faith or you are willing to live at the mercy of fate (what will be will be)?

What is faith?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. Scripturally, faith is simply a substance. It is the minutest unit of what you hope to have. Faith is like a seed that grows to become what you hope for. First, you hope for it and then you have it. Jesus made us to understand that no matter how small the substance of your faith is (Matthew 17:20), it is enough to get your prayers answered.

Secondly, faith is what you need to live. Just as oxygen is needed by every human being to remain alive, so is faith to every believer. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17. This simply means that what a believer needs to live on the earth is his faith.

The God kind of Faith

For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? Romans 3:3. There is the God kind of faith.

God’s kind of faith is the creating faith. This kind of faith creates something out of nothingness (see Hebrews 11:3). Before God said, “let there be light”, the earth was in a hopeless state. The statosquo remained until God spoke. His statement changed the present condition and brought about what He wants to achieve.

The God kind of faith is a speaking faith. And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matthew 17:20. This means you need to speak to exercise your faith.

God speaks to make things happen. He makes things with the words of his mouth. See Genesis 1.

You have the God kind of faith

Faith is one of God’s attributes and we have it too. It is interesting to know that when God created us in His likeness, He did not leave his attributes out of the equation. Christians have to be mindful of this ability. Faith is a great weapon we have been given by God to make things happen, positive or negative. The power to decide your fate is in your faith through your mouth.

Searching through the scriptures, I have seen numerous places where God gave man the power of choice. This is so because man has the ability to create his own outcome.

…that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: Deuteronomy 30:19

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21.

It is only you who can create your own outcome because the power that drives both life and death is in your mouth.

Whatever you have faith for is confirmed by your confession, because for the God kind of faith to work you must say it to have it. Therefore, because you have same ability as God to speak things to existence, whatever you say with your mouth will eventually come to fulfillment. It doesn’t matter whether it is a positive or a negative confession; all you need to do is to keep saying it.

Step into your destiny by faith

At birth, the sinful nature had fated you to live and end up normal. This is not to say that you won’t be prosperous in your human envious. But beyond living a normal life, God has a destiny for you that you can only access if you have faith for it.

Father Abraham continued to live a normal life; had a wife, cattle, servants and substances. Until he departed from his father’s house by faith, he didn’t begin the journey of his God ordained destiny.

For the child of God, in the Bible is where you will find out what God has spoken about you. You need to study your Bible to know His covenants and promises to you. You can’t have faith for what you don’t know.

Today, I want you to step into your destiny in God. It is time to stop living the normal life. You have enough faith to be all that God wants you to be. All you need to do is to have faith in his words; instructions, promises, covenants, and God will take you to that glorious tomorrow.

I hope I have not bored you. Drop your thoughts about this post in the comment section.
